From the title, you might think this Short Trip has to do with regeneration, and it does, but not the one you were expecting. In fact, it’s kind of complicated, mixing politics (both alien and Gallifreyan) with a knowledge of how regeneration works, so the reader has to be pretty up on their lore if they want to get the full effect. Even better, there’s a spoiler that fits nicely into Season 10, and which I didn’t see coming. It’s long, for a Short Trip, and it rewards the nerds, but I’m OK with that. Katy Manning narrates, and does a good job with the Doctor as always, as well as the various other characters.
