This is a fairly brief vignette, with a melancholy mood that doesn’t quite match its placement on the timeline. The Doctor is still feeling pensive and trapped, and there’s a small echo of “The Silurians,” but it’s also specifically stated to be after “The Three Doctors,” which doesn’t make a ton of sense. There’s also an unusually high body count, which seemed unnecessary to the story. The Doctor doesn’t really solve the problem at all, which makes the story a bit unsatisfying. Katy Manning narrates, and voices the Doctor, the Brig, Mike, and Benton, making all of them sound distinct, which is pretty impressive. Unfortunately, it’s not a memorable story.
