The Third Doctor and Sarah Jane

Sarah Jane Smith is widely regarded as one of the most popular companions of the Classic Era. She’s arguably the most popular period; she was the first classic companion thus far to return in the New Series (and the only one for a long time), and the only one to get a spin-off (twice!). And Elisabeth Sladen was a friend to Big Finish, appearing in a couple of series of solo stories. Unfortunately, she died in 2011, and before that, Big Finish wasn’t doing many stories with the Third or Fourth Doctors, which deprived Sarah of an opportunity to appear. It seems a bit odd that she never did a Companion Chronicle, but perhaps her solo series took her available time.
