For reasons I don’t quite recall, Carole and I thought it would be fun to get season passes to Six Flags Great Adventure in 2016. There wasn’t any particular ride we got them for, or even any strong reason. I’d been paying more attention to coaster news, and watching YouTube channels like Coaster Studios and Coasterbot, but Carole hadn’t really participated, aside from listening to me talk about new rides. But we got one of those fall e-mails that Six Flags sends out advertising super-low once-a-year rates for passes (which somehow last all of fall and to the end of the year), so we got some for myself, Carole, and Alex. I used to go to Great Adventure with Doug, so I tried to watch out for “bring a friend free” days, of which there aren’t that many. We probably went once in late 2015 to pick up the passes, and then we went a few times in 2016, but not nearly as often as we’d thought, probably because Alex kept declining whenever we suggested it.
