2021
2021 began the same way 2020 ended, under the specter of COVID. Some parks had opened, especially the ones that depend on year-round revenue, especially Texas and Florida, but California parks remained closed. As we got into spring, the vaccine started to roll out, and many parks tried to return to normal, but with restrictions. Cedar Fair was more cautious than Six Flags, and reopened more slowly. Even then, the major chains had difficulty staffing fully, and many were forced to close a couple of days during the week, even in the summer. I held to my decision not to go back to a park until I was vaccinated, which meant the end of May.
