Disney's Hollywood Studios

I could have made a decent argument for skipping Hollywood Studios altogether, but I was determined to salvage something. I arrived at the park around 7:30, and it was already getting dark. Although the park is decently well-lit, I don’t do great navigating confusing parks at night. My primary goal was to ride the park’s sole coaster, which is way back in the corner. On my 2011 visit, I never even saw it.
Rock ‘n’ Roller Coaster
Thanks to the park app, I found the coaster, back by the Tower of Terror, and got in line. I think the line was supposed to be about 45 minutes, but there was a delay at one point that made it more like an hour. The pre-show takes place in a recording studio, and the theming is fairly extensive and detailed. Aerosmith then personally invites you to their concert, and you’re going to need a fancy limo to get there through L.A. traffic. The ride is entirely indoors and starts with a launch, but it’s fairly mild. According to RCDB, it has three inversions, but I don’t think I noticed them. As best I could tell, it was just more swooping around with occasional lit scenery. I’d definitely do it again, as I don’t think my mood at the time was well-suited to the experience.
After that, with something like 10 minutes before closing, I wandered over to Galaxy’s Edge to see if I could get on anything. It was dark, the shops were closing, and the rides were reserved for a special event (I think). I never even saw the Millennium Falcon. All I did was use the restroom, which was quite well themed. On the whole, it was about the worst-planned and executed trip to Galaxy’s Edge ever. I definitely would have preferred to be stuck at Hollywood Studios all day, even if it meant not riding TRON. However, I don’t want to do Galaxy’s Edge solo, so I’m telling myself this is for the best.
