The original game plan had involved trying to get to Dollywood on Saturday, but it quickly became obvious that would be a long shot. I wanted to go, because I hadn’t been since 2017, which means I missed out on their two new family coasters, and I really wanted to get back on Lightning Rod, as it’s changed multiple times. But St. Louis was an evening visit by necessity, and there was simply no way I could get to Dollywood by opening. In addition, the storm damage in North Carolina closed route 40, so I had to take a longer detour around it. So Saturday was a really long day of driving and no parks.
