The Eleventh Doctor

The Eleventh Doctor

The Eleventh Doctor: The old man in a young man’s body. The one who likes fish fingers and custard. The one who thinks bow ties are cool (also fezzes). The one you never put in a trap. The one who likes big, loud speeches. The one who Matt Smith hasn’t yet portrayed for Big Finish. The one who, fortunately, sounds a lot like Jacob Dudman, who will appear in Big Finish, so that’s all right then.

It’s hard to fault Matt Smith for not having time to give to Big Finish just yet. He’s been busy playing Prince Philip in The Crown and Daemon Targaryen in House of the Dragon and appearing in some truly regrettable sci-fi films. He’s a busy guy. In fact, the only one more busy is Karen Gillen, who appears in the MCU under a ton of blue makeup, and has also done a bunch of TV shows. Jenna Coleman is equally busy, playing Queen Victoria, starring in The Sandman, and appearing in a bunch of stuff in between. Arthur Darville is plenty busy too, particularly appearing on Legends of Tomorrow, but he’s made the time for some Big Finish. In short, it’s a scheduling nightmare to get the original cast together, so the Eleventh Doctor’s audio appearances are mostly chronicles and short trips. But there’s always hope.
