Gallifrey

The Gallifrey series doesn’t feature the Doctor, and so it’s not something I generally collect, but at the time of this writing (March 2021), I’ve expanded the Big Finish I’m collecting to include some tangential spin-offs, and this is the most elaborate of them. Gallifrey started in 2004, very possibly as a way to create new stories featuring Lalla Ward as Romana and Louise Jameson as Leela, as both actors enjoyed Big Finish, but were limited because Tom Baker wasn’t participating at the time. Eventually the series developed its own recurring characters in Brax and Narvin, who sometimes spilled over into other series. Once Big Finish acquired the rights to more new-series concepts, the Time War became a storytelling option, since there are a number of characters we know were on Gallifrey at the end of the Classic Era, but whose fates are currently unknown.
