The Sound of Drums

TV Series 3, Episode 12

Aired: 23 June 2007

Although this Master first appeared at the end of Utopia, this is his first proper appearance. As plans go, he's done pretty well for himself this time, building the Archangel Network to brainwash Britain into electing him Prime Minister, all of which is groundwork for his eventual domination of Earth. Simm plays this Master mostly in crazy mode, especially when he's pretending to be a human. He's also particularly driven by the "heartbeat" sound that supposedly drove the Master insane all the way back at the beginning...except this is the first time it's ever been mentioned.
