This story continues directly from "Sibling Rivalry," the preceeding part of "The Quin Dilemma." Usually, when Big Finish does these multi-part stories, there's some kind of symmetry to them, but this one is odd. The previous two stories of this set were self-contained, but this has been a two-parter with twice the bad guys. I rather wish the story were stronger, though. After handwaving the cliffhanger, the Doctor and Constance join up with some rebels to outwit the Sontarans, because the Doctor is clever. Flip is with her own group, being a strategic genius by accident, and ends up getting all the credit. The two idiot princes learn that the only way out of their predicament is to work together. Much like the last story, the princes have very little effect on the plot; they just hang around and swoop the Doctor away at the end. For the Doctor, Constance, and Flip, the story continues from here to The Firstborn, before they come back here.
