This story, by Lisa McMullin, appears to take place shortly after the first, but I think not immediately. Rose and Clive are the dimension-scouting team now, and they have a “standard procedure” of splitting up and trying to make contact with their alt-families, which would somehow lead them to evidence of the Doctor. On this world, it’s raining, and it’s been raining since 1982. The world’s governments are blaming global warming, but they’re hiding the truth that something bigger is happening, and it’s extraterrestrial. Rose teams up with a couple of Tylers to infiltrate the Prime Minister’s office, while Clive meets the alternate version of his wife, and spends a lovely day with her. Again, it seems fairly hopeless, because there isn’t much either of them can do to help this world, but Rose gets involved anyway. The lack of closure on this story could become irritating if they go on this way.
