The Suave Master

This is the version of the Master we were first introduced to on TV, as played by Roger Delgado. Pretty much all the tropes we associate with the Master originated here: the over-inflated opinion of himself, the overly complex plans, the tendency to pick untrustworthy allies, and above all, the "friendly enemy" relationship with the Doctor. For all the Master tries to kill the Doctor, you get the sense that he'd be disappointed if he actually succeeded. Big Finish historically stayed away from this Master, although he has been portrayed by John Culshaw a few times.
