Gallifrey: Time War #3.1

Released: 20 February 2020

After the events of the last series, Romana and Narvin are exiled from Gallifrey, traveling in a busted TARDIS, and looking for Leela. Which is good in one way, because it means that they don’t need to play politics right now, or act officious, and Narvin doesn’t have his loyalty tested. On the other hand, this is an ordinary sort of Doctor Who adventure, which means it comes off a bit like filler. They end up on a wrecked Time Lord ship, where the only survivor is a scientist who has created a monster, which turns out to be more than it seems. There’s a bit of a link here, as the monster is a Sicari, one of the race of attackers from “Assassins,” which in turn were created from paradox, as they’re answering the call from “Collateral,” which was sent by a race that has been wiped from history. Maybe that will come to something later on, but right now it hasn’t. It’s an OK episode, but has a feeling of killing time.
