I have to admit, I was underwhelmed by this conclusion. It could be the way I listened to it, in bits and pieces over the course of a week when I was mostly occupied with something else. But still, there are pieces I didn’t care for. A second Keira turns up, claiming to be Future Keira, which has some entertainment value. Except it’s pretty obvious from jump what’s really going on, and how it ties back to the first story. The Doctor definitely should’ve worked that out immediately, and Keira probably should have too. Mrs. Havilland pops up as the big bad, another rogue time agent taking advantage of the mess Keira made, but she’s ruling godlike over the temporally shattered bits of Calandra. She also seems to have gone binky-bonkers, which is the least engaging type of villain. It’s nice for the Doctor to have somebody to rage at, but he probably wouldn’t waste his breath, because she certainly ain’t listening. If anything, the trilogy is too short. There isn’t enough space for the callback to Part 1 to be a surprise, and we don’t have much time to get used to Keira. She goes pretty hard for redemption in this story, but given how she started off, it seems too quick of a turnaround. Lucky for her, her story continues.
