The Tenth Doctor and Donna

The Tenth Doctor and Donna

Donna Noble was created as a character who was clearly unsuited to being a companion, one that even the casual viewer could see didn’t belong. Except…the Doctor makes some people better versions of themselves when he touches their lives, and Catherine Tate absolutely knocked it out of the park, making Donna brash, snarky, and sympathetic at the same time, which folks didn’t really expect. Plus, Tate and David Tennant get along like a house on fire, and they’re brilliant as a comic duo. Which not only meant that Tate got upgraded to full-time companion in the fourth series, but also that she’s been entirely willing to do Big Finish work, especially when Tennant is involved. So there are a fair number of inserts in this section.
