It’s starting to look like this series is going to be more of an ensemble than Leela’s story, as she doesn’t do all that much in this episode. Instead, we add Rasmus to the mix, played again by Chris Jarman. We also get a survivor story: a Time Lord shows up with amnesia, claiming to be the survivor of a Dalek attack. If he’s telling the truth, he’s got a pile of valuable information and tech, assuming he can remember it. We get several interrogation scenes of varying politeness, as David Llewellyn uses them to flesh out each interrogator’s character and motivations. The only problem is that Ollistra, Rasmus, and the General seem to flip back and forth rather too quickly, and more than once in the story. Admittedly, Llewellyn keeps us guessing, and also reveals some deep, nasty backstory for both Ollistra and the General, but that part isn’t exactly surprising. Everybody in this set has skeletons in their closets, except for Leela (because she would have destroyed them).
