While Part 1 was written by Matt Fitton, Parts 2 and 3 are both written by Lou Morgan, which kind of implies a tighter connection, but I’m not sure I agree. This part is mostly the Doctor and Keira trying to fix subsidiary cracks in time, which aren’t really that dramatic, as far as cracks in time go, and are solved by tossing in a time grenade at the right moment. The other major thing that happens is that Keira starts to grow on the Doctor. As a time agent, she’s a bit more capable than normal companions when it comes to the timey-wimey stuff, but she’s still naive enough to let the Doctor act superior. So she triggers both his professor tendencies and his protective tendencies, and seems to be sincerely helping out, all of which makes the Doctor warm to her. Is that likely for the Twelfth Doctor, especially after she shot one of his guitars? I’m not so sure. He does seem to have a soft spot for bored young time-travelers, so maybe. Bhavnisha Parmar plays Keira – you’ve seen her playing Yaz’s younger sister Sonya on TV – and admittedly she’s amazingly charming and likable, but with a selfish and short-sighted streak. Being confronted with the consequences of her actions seems to be making a difference, though. It also introduces Mrs. Havilland, who is, apparently, a random passerby in Bath who got too close to one of the cracks. Probably isn’t important.
