Gallifrey #4.2
Released: March 2011
Listened: 4/23/21
Another episode means another alternate Gallifrey, and in this one, everybody’s straight-up evil. Or at least, the Time Lords are much more heavily interventionist than the mainstream versions. And their imperialist tendencies extend to alternate timelines too; they want to wipe them all out, and anybody from them, including our protagonists. Romana is President again (but evil). Leela is the chief torturer (and evil). There’s another Vansell here, and also evil. But the big thing here is the alternate version of the Doctor, played by Colin Baker. Except, spoiler, he’s evil, and the Presidential Assassin. Which leads to a paradox and a confrontation with Braxiatel. The protagonists get the door to that unpleasant reality shut, but lose the Evil Doctor and Brax. The Doctor won’t appear again, but Brax ends up somewhere else, meeting Bernice Summerfield for the first time (but not from her perspective). On the whole, this one is boring. All the evil moustache-twirling is over the top, even for an actor as gifted as Louise Jameson. And the plot doesn’t appear to be going anywhere.
