The Giggle

TV 60th Anniversary Specials, episode 3

Aired: 9 December 2023

The big special. Reintroduces the Celestial Toymaker after 57 years (not counting Big Finish), now played by Neil Patrick Harris of all people. Has a lot of UNIT, and reintroduces Kate Stewart (sadly, Osgood is nowhere to be found), who now employs Melanie Bush, much like Kate promised. I wonder how Bonnie Langford and Ruth Madeley felt, appearing in a Fourteenth Doctor story together. And of course the “bi-generation” that introduces the Fifteenth Doctor while still leaving the Fourteenth around, which is fan-service at its height.
