Rory Williams

I’ve often said in this project that I’m not a fan of stories that require the Doctor (or someone else) to wait around for an improbable amount of time while the plot does something else. Rory’s 2,000 years as a plastic Roman guarding the Pandorica really should qualify, but it’s in service of an amazing love story, and it also allows Rory to take several levels in badass. Yes, he did promise the Doctor that he’d lay low and stay away from historical events, but come on, it’s Rory. We’re not expecting him to succeed there. Fortunately, these stories take place in the alternate timeline where there are no stars, so there’s no need to worry about mucking up history. Even more fortunately, nobody’s really taking these seriously, so it’s all in good fun. I’m not really sure when Arthur Darville found time to do these, as he’s been fairly popular, but he’s done other projects for Big Finish, which likely increased his willingness.
